We are pleased to offer a pre-Stellafane workshop all day on Thursday, August 4th, at the historic Hartness House Inn and Hartness-Porter Museum of Amateur Telescope Making located in Springfield, Vermont. Proceeds will support the Hartness-Porter Museum of Amateur Telescope Making, which is run by volunteers from the Springfield Telescope Makers. While associated with the Stellafane Convention, this is a separate event and separate registration and fees apply.
New For 2016: Workshop attendees may set up at Stellafane on Wednesday August 3rd after 12pm to 6pm without additional charge (more info below).

Continuing a workshop series instituted by John Briggs and Dan Lorraine in 2009, this year's Hartness House Workshop theme is Sub-Arcsecond Spatial Resolution Imaging. Many thanks to John and Dan for 7 years of successful seminars! This year the Hartness House Workshop is presented by Dr. Tom Spirock and Dan Lorraine. In addition to the Workshop Program, participants will have private access to the Springfield Telescope Maker's Museum and, weather permitting, evening observing with the historic Hartness Turret Telescope.
The last few years have seen a revolution in astronomical imaging for professional and amateurs alike. Come and learn about equipment and techniques that now enable ground-based imaging that rivals or surpasses space-based imaging from just a few years ago.
Day Session Keynote Address:
Dr. Phillip R. Goode,
Former Director of the Big Bear Solar Observatory: "Highest Resolution Observations of the Sun Using the Latest
Technologies at the Big Bear Solar Observatory." For more
