A Paperless Convention

Most conferences and conventions have eliminated printed programs and information in favor of providing downloadable and printable documents for attendees. The Stellafane Convention is adopting this model this year, and you will NOT be given printed material as you check in at the gate. If you want such material, you should download it to your mobile device or print it BEFORE you arrive.

We will post compact schedules in every major building or display them on monitors. As always, this information is available online, but WiFi and Mobile service is not available in many locations at Stellafane, which is why we urge you to download offline copies to your device before arriving.

This page provides links to all the information we used to print, although it is broken up into smaller pieces so you can select which items you wish to get.

Advice on How to Download or Print

The information we provide comes in two formats: PDF files or Web Pages (HTML).

To download a Web Page (HTML file) to your device, use your web browser to open that page.

• Android/Google Chrome: From the 3-dot menu in the upper right, select Share then Save as PDF.
• Android/Firefox: From the 3-dot menu in the upper right, select Print to PDF.
• iOS/Safari:
  • On the top right corner of the screen, click on the share icon (box with up arrow)
  • Scroll down and select “Print"
  • On the top right corner of the screen, click on the share icon (box with up arrow)
  • Select “Save to file”. The default location is indicated at the top center of the screen.
  • This will save the webpage to a PDF in the selected location.
    The default location is ”desktop.”

To download a PDF file, click on the link to it, and it will open in your chosen PDF viewer. You should be able to download or save a copy of that file from a menu in the viewer. For instance, Adobe Acrobat Viewer has a 'Save a Copy' item in their 3-dot Menu at the upper right of this app.

Once you have PDF files on your device, you should be able to open them from your PDF viewer or downloads folder. You can test if they are available off-line by turning on airplane mode before trying to access them.

Printing functionality varies a lot on mobile devices, and not all offer the option, or you may have to download a printing app from your printer manufacturer. Another option is to use a PC or Mac to get the files you want and print from there.

Alternative: On site, you can take a photo of a schedule poster for reference.

Schedules

The full schedule is large with talk descriptions and all scheduled items; the compact Schedules fit on approximately 1 page and only contain daytime talks, demonstrations and workshops. There is little in the Thursday and Sunday compact Schedules; you probably only need the Friday and Saturday versions.

Schedules are 99% complete - A few special events may be added.
