2025 Detour to Stellafane
Valid July 5 to August 18
A large culvert is being replaced on VT-11 near Fairground Road, and VT-11 will be impassable at this point.
If you are coming to Stellafane from Exit 7 on I-91, using VT-11 West, you will have to detour - see routes below.
If you are coming to Stellafane from Exit 6 on I-91, using VT-103, or coming on VT-11 East from Chester, there will be no need to detour.
Car Only Local Detour
This detour uses Park Street, which has narrow, sharp turns and a steep grade - it is only suitable for cars and pickup trucks.
In downtown Springfield you will be directed onto Park Street. In one block after a crossing a bridge there is a sharp right turn.
Follow Park Street up a steep grade, turn sharp right (low visibility) at the top of the grade, continue until it ends at a flashing light,
and turn left onto VT-11 East past the work zone.
Large Vehicle (Large RV, Large Trailer, Truck) Detour
If you are come up from the south on I-91, we strongly suggest you take exit 6, turn left on US-5 North, continue onto to VT-103 North, and then in Chester turn right on to VT-11 east. This is the quickest and easiest way to get to Stellafane this year. It is not a marked detour.
If you have gotten off I-91 at Exit 7 and are on VT-11 West in Springfield, DO NOT GO ON PARK STREET!
Use the Truck Detour: Continue on VT-11 West to VT-106 North. In North Springfield continue onto VT-10 West. When it ends turn right onto VT-103 South. In Chester, turn left onto VT-11 East.
When turning onto VT-11 East in Chester, you can safely ignore any road closed ahead signs - the turn up to Stellafane on Breezy Hill Road will be before the road is closed
