Bonus Session 1

We try to have some 'bonus sessions' to allow students who want extra work time at Stellafane a chance to do that. Attendance is usually lower at these session, but a lot of progress is typically made. This was our first bonus session of the year.

Grinding

We did rough and fine grinding in the bunkhouse, as we as some lap making

Making Laps

Amit made a new lap in the bunkhouse kitchen, and Michael did a nice job of photographing the process (first 7 pictures below). Tatiana shot the last two, of Micro Faciting a lap and making 4" lap bases for her family's current mirror project.

Jay set up the Schupmann to track the sun, and after the sun dipped below the trees we locked on to the cresent moon.

Webcams (Not!)

Last December's Ice Storms really took a toll on our webcams, and they haven't been working since. We lost the port forwarding setups on our DSL modems, we lost our Wireless Router, and many of the webcams are in a bad state. Webmaster Ken put some time in on this problem on this day, and he has a webcam working when it sits within a foot of the wireless access point; Move it away, and work it does not. But progess was made, and more will come after Thanksgiving...
