Bonus Session 1
This was our first bonus session of the year. As is typical, it had lighter attendance, but that means less crowds and more attention from instructors. Plenty of good things happening today.
Zhenya Finishes Up!
The big news from the McGregor Observatory was that Zhenya finished up his 6-inch mirror. He stuck with it and got great results, and we know he is proud of his accomplishment. Good job!

Zhenya has his mirror cleanup up and ready for testing after a figuring session. Instructor Jay works on polishing a mirror he is making on the right.

Not a great picture, but you can see the straight lines over about half the mirror surface indicating a perfect figure under the Ross Null Test.

Sometimes Jay gets a bit carried away when students compete mirrors. Zhenya's face is approaching the color of his shirt!
Calm down, Jay!

This lap needs trimming in a bad way: the channels are closing up and the edge needs beveling.
