First Session of a New Class
Late October, a bit of snow on the ground (and 7 to 10 inches forecast for overnight!) and we start a new Mirror Class at Stellafane.
Rough Grinding in the Pavilion
The Rough Grinders started out in the pavilion classroom, working on a radiant heated floor and Parker barrels.

Although it was in the 40's outside, the radiant heat from our wood scrap boiler made this room shirtsleeve comfortable.

Those working with finer grits set up in the bunkhouse, and we poured a lap for an old mirror that had never been finished.

Boiler Shack
With an unprecedented heavy October snow on the way that night, work was accelerated on the shack roof that now houses the wood-fired boiler for the radiant floor heating in the pavilion classrooms
