The Stellafane Mirror Class

In support of the Springfield Telescope Makers core mission of encouraging and supporting Amateur Telescope Making, we offer Mirror Classes at Stellafane in Springfield, Vermont, USA. Classes are free, but students must provide or buy the necessary material. Space is limited, classes fill up quickly, and you must sign up for class. Current Mirror Class

Mirror class runs monthly from October through March. See our Events Calendar for current session schedules. Sign up at right in the pink box at any time, our mirror class leader will contact you and advise you when you can attend, which may be in the following annual session in the usual event that the current class is full.

We maintain a list of Mirror Making Classes all over the World. Check to see if one is in your area if you are not located near Stella­fane (Southern Vermont, USA).

Original Stellafane Mirror Class announcement
This poster by Russell W. Porter announced his first mirror making class at the Jones & Lamson Machine Company. The first meeting was held on August 17, 1920. Sixteen people showed up and were considered charter members of the association that became the Springfield Telescope Makers on December 7, 1923.
