3:00 p.m. ATM Demo Talk in the Pavilion (Beginner level).

3:00 p.m. Astronomy Activities for Kids in the McGregor Observatory (for ages 5 to 12).

4:00 p.m. - ATM Demo Talk in the Pavilion (Beginner level).

4:30 p.m. Solar System Walk behind the Pink Clubhouse (Beginner level).

5:00 p.m. "Stellafane for Beginners" talk in the McGregor Observatory (Beginner level).

8:30 p.m. Informal talks begin in the Pavilion (Beginner to Moderate level).

10:00 p.m. "Discover and Enjoy the Sky" talk in the McGregor Obs. (Beginner level).

Saturday, August 11th

11:00 a.m. Telescope Field Walk near the Pink Clubhouse (Beginner level).

11:00 a.m. Astronomy Activities for Kids in the McGregor Observatory (for ages 5 to 12).

12:30 p.m. Solar System Walk behind the Pink Clubhouse (Beginner level).

2:00 p.m. Technical Talks begin in the Amphitheater (Moderate to Advanced level).

3:00 p.m. Astronomy Activities for Kids in the McGregor Observatory (for ages 5 to 12).

5:00 p.m. "Using a Telescope w/ Your Child" talk in the McGregor Observatory (Beginner level).

7:00 p.m. Evening Program begins in the Amphitheater (Beginner to Moderate level).

10:00 p.m. "Discover and Enjoy the Sky" talk in the McGregor Observatory (Beginner level).

The ATM Demo talks will briefly introduce people who are interested in making their own telescopes to the fundamental skills that are required to make your own mirror and build your own telescope. Following the talk people can practice some of these skills at the hands-on ATM demo.

During the Solar System Walks, people will get a feel for the sizes of the orbits of the planets by walking the scale model of the solar system while the docent describes various characteristics of each planet.

The Informal Talks are where Conventioneers can give brief descriptions of their own astronomical projects, astrophotography, eclipse expeditions, etc.

During the Telescope Field Walk, a docent, who is an experienced amateur telescope maker, will show a group of people the various types of telescopes that will be set up around the Pink Clubhouse and describe their various characteristics.

The Technical Talks are where four pre-scheduled amateur astronomers will describe, in detail, their individual observational / telescope making projects.

During the Evening Program, the raffle prizes will be given out, the awards for the telescope competition will be awarded and the Key-Note speaker will be herd.
